The Yellow Works

Production space and office space want different things, so the offices are pulled out of the shed rather than partitioned off inside it: a projecting glazed volume in a strong yellow, cantilevered over the entrance so it shades the door and is visible from the yard gate. The shed behind stays grey profiled cladding with a louvred ventilation band under the eaves. Planting is drawn on the retaining wall between the yard and the office entrance, which is where staff actually arrive on foot.
