The Ribbed House
A house divided into three bays, each given a single material and nothing else.

Parti
Three materials, one to a bay
The front is divided into three bays and each is given one material and left alone: ribbed metal to the left, figured stone to the right, and a timber-lined recess between them holding the front door. The divisions line up with the plan, so the material change is telling you where the rooms change rather than being applied over the top of an indifferent elevation. The first floor projects on the stone side to shade the parking beneath, and the roof is pitched and finished in red, which is what stops the composition reading as three flat panels.
