Kokobeng House
A wide, low house under a hipped roof, held to the road by a split-stone garden wall.

Parti
A hipped roof and a stone garden wall
This one is not a flat-roofed white box, and the plot is the reason: it is wide, it is level, and it is on a road where every neighbour has a pitched roof. So the house is kept low and wide under a broad hipped roof with deep eaves, which handles the rain properly and shades the walls without shading devices being added. A split-stone garden wall runs the full frontage and steps with the ground, doing the work of tying a long facade to the street, and the planting is drawn as part of that wall rather than placed in front of it afterwards.
