Kanda Apartments

A tight urban plot, so the ground goes to parking and the amenity goes upward. The top floor is not another flat: it is a lounge and dining room with a timber slatted ceiling, planting to the edges and the only long view on the site. Below it the pool is set against a planted wall and decked in timber, tucked to the side where the boundary gives it privacy rather than left in the middle of the plot where nothing can screen it. On the street elevation one timber-framed bay is pushed forward through the full height of the block, which is what breaks up five otherwise identical floors of balcony.
