Gaucho House

A vertical slot of green-tinted glazing runs the full height of the front elevation, splitting the house into two white masses and lighting the stair that sits directly behind it. Because the slot is narrow and deeply reveal-set, it takes very little direct sun while still reading as the tallest element on the plot. The masses either side are kept plain: one is set on a split-stone base, the other carries a planted roof terrace. Warm strip lighting is recessed into the soffits and the reveal edges rather than surface-mounted, so at dusk the building is lit by its own joints.
