Aburi Ledge

On the Aburi escarpment the view is in one direction only, so the house is set long and low along the contour and every main room is placed on the view side. A timber-slatted soffit runs the full length of that elevation and is deep enough to shade the glazing behind it through the middle of the day, which matters when the whole facade faces one way. The base is dark stone so the building sits into the slope rather than on it, and the pool is pushed out to the edge of the drop where the ground falls away.
