Fuel station and retail
The Forecourt
A filling station where the canopy is the building and the shop is what it shelters.

Parti
One canopy, read at road speed
At road speed a filling station is a canopy and a sign, so the canopy is where the design effort goes: a deep, clean-edged plane on slim columns, banded in the operator's colours and lit from inside its own soffit so it reads at night without floodlights on poles. The shop and the mart behind it are kept low and quiet, faced in timber and render, and set back far enough that forecourt circulation never has to squeeze past a shopfront. The set includes the earlier scheme for the retail building, with its folded yellow soffit carried on a single line of columns.
